POSITION PURPOSE/JOB FUNCTION:
To contribute to the development and implementation of a strategic and
tactical supply chain program that will enhance the quality and cost
effectiveness while maximizing the operating income for Bobcat
Aftermarket, of purchased, non-production material and services, while
managing specific inventory levels in order to maximize availability and
inventory turns.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support multiple projects which improve overall Aftermarket supply
chain cost, productivity and quality, with a goal of reducing negative
material price variance.
- Negotiate design change, material, packaging, and logistical costs
with Aftermarket suppliers.
- Create contracts, which are required for materials, services and
capital necessary to support the Aftermarket organization, between
Bobcat Company and non-production suppliers.
- Develop, manage and execute the Materials Planning function for items
demanded by Bobcat Company and our Dealers. This includes controlling an
annual spend of approximately $19,000,000 as measured by cost of sales.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships and rapport with Bobcat's
suppliers to aid in the timely delivery of material. The Materials
Analyst II must effectively work directly with individuals at all levels
of the supplier's organizational chart.
- Participate in the New Product Development process by working with
virtually every functional area within Bobcat to ensure the successful
implementation and launch of new product lines. The Materials Analyst II
will have the ability and responsibility to delay the launch of any new
project due to insufficient part readiness.
- Engage Sourcing, Finance, and Aftermarket's packager and suppliers to
aid in the rapid resolution of all outstanding supplier invoices to make
sure the supply and on-time delivery of material destined to our dealers
and customers is not interrupted.
- Analyze and implement cost effective and innovative solutions on all
non-conforming and defective material by working with our 3rd party
warehouse. The Materials Analyst II is responsible for making sound
financial decisions to ensure that this material is disposed of within
company guidelines while obtaining maximum benefit for the company.
- Conduct annual TL and LTL freight optimization analyses to ensure
that Bobcat's supply base is using the appropriate freight carriers in
order to optimize Bobcat's negotiated cost savings.
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain or
related field. 2-5 years experience preferred. Minimum of 2 years of expediting and/or
procurement experience preferred **A mechanical and inventory control
background helpful **Incumbent must have a high level of motivation
**Top notch communication skills, attention to detail, solid
analytical/problem solving skills, and the ability to multi-task and
follow through in a fast paced environment **High degree of fluency in
Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access
